What was the competition (Ford & Plymouth) up to when this 1987 Chevrolet Cavalier RS was in showrooms? The Ford Escort was available in two- and four-door hatchback versions as well as a four-door station wagon; the EXP two-door coupe was also considered a part of the Escort lineup. Plymouth’s Horizon was available only as a four-door hatchback; the Turismo two-door hatch coupe was (sort of) part of the lineup as well. The Cavalier had a broader range of body styles: two- and four-door sedans, two-door hatchback, and a four-door station wagon, as well as the convertible which is today’s RealRide, seen almost a year ago in Tonawanda.
