RealRides of WNY - 1965 Coronet

Sales numbers for the 1965 Dodge Coronet 500 show that almost 33,000 of them left the factory (including convertibles). Do an internet search though, and you might come away with the impression that almost all of the hardtop models left the factory powered by a Hemi and wearing aftermarket mag wheels. For the record, all Coronet 500s came standard with Chrysler’s 273cid V8 (a Slant Six was standard on almost all other Coronet models). Other V8 engines of 318, 361, and 383 cubic inches were optional along with two 426 versions — one of which was the Hemi. Original, showroom-stock-looking cars like this one are rare indeed. The owner told us it has just over 65k on the odometer when we saw it a couple of weeks ago at the Made-In-America Store monthly cruise night in Elma. Nice.
