The brochure called the 1978 Chevrolet Nova “Solid. Sensible, and sized for today.” Discounting the two incomplete sentences here, the description was pretty spot on. Available as this coupe, as well as a four-door sedan and a three-door hatchback, the compact Nova was about the size of a standard 1955 Chevy. How things changed over the years! The brochure pages for the ritzy Nova Custom (below), whose headline reads “Nova. The wanted car,” cheekily posed it in front of a Nova sedan equipped with special police equipment, which was described in the copy as “The most wanted compact police car in America.” Today’s RealRide was seen a month or so ago in an Irving parking lot.
