In these past few years I’ve come to believe that you could buy a new 1956 Lincoln Capri (or the more upscale Premiere) in any color as long as it was black, or so it would seem from what I’ve been seeing around town now. I’m not sure where to find a breakdown of how many of each color were sold for MY 1956, but my sources tell me there were 19 different colors offered that year, which could also be ordered in one of 35 two-tone combinations. In addition, one magazine ad tells us that interior-wise, “29 combinations of new decorator fabrics and leather, obtainable only in Lincoln” were available. We came across this Presidential Black example in a few weeks back in Fillmore.
