One nice thing about summer, you never know what kind of a car you might come upon driving down the street. Just last week driving in Niagara Falls I stopped at a stop sign and saw this 1956 Studebaker Hawk on a side street. Making a quick right turn, I pulled up in front of the house to see a couple of guys hanging out in the driveway. Stopping to chat, I learned from owner George Begole that this is an original old drag racing car. Under the hood is a Chevy LT1 engine, hooked up to GM’s 350 Turbo-Hydramatic transmission. I just love the look of this car, with the simple steel wheels and vintage racing graphics. Oh, and the Blue Dot taillights! Nice. Tomorrow we’ll meet the other guy, and see what I found in his garage as I walked up the driveway.
