You know, if they’d kept making cars like this 1988 Pontiac Bonneville SSE, maybe the division would have survived the GM downsizing of a few years ago. Oh sure, just before they closed up shop they gave us the G8, but by then it was too late. The new-for-1987 Bonneville made Car and Driver magazine’s 10Best List, and the new-for-1988 SSE was thought highly enough of at Pontiac to devote almost five pages of their 72-page brochure singing its praises.
