You’ve gotta love the hand-lettered “Nader 2016” endorsement on the rear window of this 1966-67 Chevy Corvair, seen a while back in Tonawanda. Ralph Nader, you may remember, wrote the book Unsafe At Any Speed in which he raked General Motors over the coals for the design of the first generation of Chevy’s rear-engined compact. The handling problems were long-solved by the time this one hit the road, but the publicity was too much to overcome, and the Corvair slowly faded away, disappearing after the 1969 model year.
