The license plate might say Massachusetts, but I’m pretty sure I was driving through the Town of Wheatfield, New York when I spotted this 1955 Ford Fairlane Victoria. This one’s got some options: two-tone paint, whitewalls, outside mirrors, back-up lamps, bumper guards, continental kit, radio, and a V8 with dual exhausts. You might think it odd that with all of these extras, it’s still sporting poverty hubcaps. Well, taking a look at Ford’s 1955 brochure, all of the featured cars except the top-of-the-line Crown Victoria are wearing these — even the fancy-schmancy convertible and Country Squire wagon. Strange.
