A 1973 Pontiac GTO like this example (actually a LeMans with the available GTO package) probably isn’t the first one that pops into your head when someone says “GTO.” But, here it is, in GM’s new-for-1973 Collonade body style.
The GTO option was available only on the two-door model (thankfully), and included: heavy-duty 3-speed floor shift; 400 cu. in. 4-bbl V8; G60-15 blackwall tires; dual exhausts with chrome extensions; blacked-out grille; hood scoops; firm shocks; large front and rear stabilizer bars; 15” x 7” wheels; and moon-style hubcaps. The featured car also has the Decor group, and was spotted at last summer’s Olcott Beach car show.
