Here’s one you’ll never lose in the mall parking lot. It’s another edition of RealRides on the Road, as our pals David Lundy and Mari McNeil found this Citroën 2CV6 Spécial on a recent trip to Paris along the road from Marais to Montmartre. The 2CV was in a way the French version of the post-war VW — cheap transportation for the masses, done in that quirky way which the French seem to have for doing things. The 2CV — deux chevaux — name comes from the original engine, a 9-hp, 2-cylinder unit which was rated for tax purposes at 2-hp, or, two horses (deux chevaux). The 2CV was in production from 1948-1990; the 6 Spécial was introduced in the 1980s.
