RealRides reader George Apfel snapped this photo a while back in Irving, just off the NYS Thruway. It’s a 1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass hardtop coupe, which Olds touted in its brochure as their “…lowest priced hardtop!” If you were one of the 1,345 buyers of the six-cylinder version, your starting MSRP was was a mere $2901 for “…Olds styling, Olds engineering, and hard-to-believe Olds extras.” The V-8 version, which started at $3022, did much better better sales-wise with over 32,000 takers.
