RealRides of WNY - 1963 Corvair Greenbrier

We turned the clock back an hour over the weekend, so I thought we’d also turn the calendar back all this week to this past summer’s car shows.

Before minivan was actually a word in the automotive lexicon, there was this 1963 Corvair Greenbrier which, in their brochure, Chevy called a Sports Wagon. With windows and seats you could fit nine people into the Greenbrier. A delivery version without so many windows (the Corvair 95 Corvan) and a pickup (Corvair 95 Rampside) were also available. Like all Corvairs, the engines were mounted in the rear, under the load floor. Saw this one at the Orphan Car Show in Orchard Park last May.
