We turned the clock back an hour over the weekend, so I thought we’d also turn the calendar back all this week to this past summer’s car shows
It’s pretty easy to find ’57 Chevys in and around car shows, but a 1957 Pontiac Star Chief is pretty rare. How rare? Chevy sold 166,426 of its top-line Bel Air sport coupes, while the Star Chief Custom Catalina two-door (Catalina being Pontiac-speak for pillarless hardtop) sold 32,862. Yes, the Pontiac cost 600 bucks more, but wow! — that’s quite a sales difference. Saw this nice example parked outside of this past September’s car show at Olcott Beach.
