This 1965 Ford LTD, seen a few years ago in Brant, is from an era where Ford advertised its new luxury line as being “quieter than a Rolls-Royce.” Never having ridden in either one, I can’t personally say if it was true or not. I will say though, that seeing a two-door version from the LTD’s inaugural year is rather rare, as only 37,691 were built, compared to over 68,000 four-doors. Originally a sub-model of the Galaxie 500, the LTD became a separate model in 1967.
