Hard to imagine with all the rounded-off shapes of today’s cars that there was a period of time when they were very square. A prime example is this 1965 Ford Fairlane 500 Sports Coupe, seen last summer at the annual car show held in the Village of Allegany. The Sports Coupe was the top-of-the-line Fairlane in ’65; this one has the optional 289 V8, as well as the $45.80 wire wheel covers. Standard were bucket seats and a console.
