From my short time as a Buick salesman in the mid 2000s’ decade I can remember customers of a certain age stopping in and lamenting the demise of the Tri-Shield brand’s cars like this 1995 Buick Park Avenue. Some of them traded their old LeSabres and Park Avenues, reluctantly, I might add, on a Lucerne (much like the one in the background below) or a mid-sized LaCrosse. But they just weren’t the same, and I imagine the once-proud Flint manufacturer lost a lot of loyal customers over that move. Still, Buick churns on, and I imagine a lot of their old customers are driving Impalas, while Pontiac and Oldsmobile — two alternatives to Buick back in the day — are mere automotive history. Go figure. Saw this green (or is it blue?) Park last winter in Niagara Falls. Yes, those are snowflakes. Do not adjust your screen!
