“That’s alotta blue!” This 1965 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight convertible is what those in the trade would refer to as blue and blue over blue — a blue body with a blue top and interior. The mid-1960s were certainly years when the term “full-sized car” didn’t pull any punches. And Olds’ brochure copywriters noticed, raving about “Its sleek, sculptured styling on noticeably longer, wider dimensions.” If at a glance you (somehow) didn’t notice that the Ninety-Eight was a large car, you’d certainly notice it if you tried to pull it into a Depression-era-built garage like the one at the end of my driveway. Definitely would be a no-go. Saw this one a few weeks ago in Lancaster.
