When the 2001 Honda Insight hit the showrooms, it was somewhat (somewhat? Lol…) of an oddity. Advertised as America’s first gasoline-electric hybrid automobile, the folks at Honda must have figured, if you’re going to drive something really different, it should look really different. With seating for two, the Insight’s pool of potential buyers was quite small. But those who took the plunge were promised 68 miles per gallon on the highway and a 700-mile range on one tank of fuel (with the ever-present asterisk which stated actual mileage may vary). The owner of this red example, seen last year in Tonawanda, has added a set of slick Moon Disc wheel covers to make this sleek little car even more aerodynamic.
