I love going to car shows/cruise-ins and coming across stuff like this 1976 Ford Maverick. Who’da thought back when this was new that someone would be showing it off 42 years later at a show in Sal Maglie Stadium in Niagara Falls? This example looks pretty spiffy with the optional Exterior Décor Group: whitewalls, “dintinctively-styled” wheel covers, ¾ vinyl top with bodyside/roof painted accent stripe, bright window frames and belt moldings, and vinyl side moldings. Also visible is a fender-mounted antenna which would indicate a radio — and, this being 1976, that radio could have been: an AM with pushbutton settings (!), AM w/8-track tape player, AM/FM mono, AM/FM stereo, or the granddaddy of ‘em all — pushbutton AM/FM stereo w/8-track tape. For 1976 the Maverick was available as a two- or four-door sedan, with a choice of two in-line sixes or a V-8.
