It’s not often (these days, anyway) you see this type of car wearing this type of rubber, but the 1977 Pontiac Firebird Esprit, as outlined in Pontiac’s literature, was the one to buy “If the spirit moves you towards luxury.” Which fully explains the whitewalls, Lol. Veddy upscale. The Esprit also came standard with a 3.8L V-6 (as did the base ‘Bird), sport mirrors, luxury cushioned steering wheel, rear ash trays, added acoustical insulation, and bucket seats bound in all-Morrokide. Deluxe wheel covers were standard on the Esprit, but this one, seen last summer at the annual Kinsmen Show & Shine in Niagara-on-the-Lake, is sporting a set of optional Rally II wheels.
