There was a time when many families in many neighborhoods had actual cars in their driveways; and many of them, depending of course on the neighborhood, were Chevys, Fords, or Plymouths. They all had lineups which matched each other model for model, and this 1966 Plymouth Fury III went up against Chevy’s Impala and Ford’s Galaxie 500. These three were at the top of their pecking orders until the almost luxury nameplates came along: Chevy Caprice, Ford LTD, and yes, Plymouth had one too (although you didn’t see quite as many of them) — the aptly-named VIP. This nicely-preserved Fury III was seen a few years ago in Niagara Falls.
