Nice to see a blast from the past like this 1971 Chevy C10 Cheyenne just up the street from the RealRides City of Tonawanda headquarters over the summer. Most pickups from this era were used, abused, and run into the ground. The Cheyenne was an all-new model for ’71 — Chevy told us in the brochure that it was the one you could drive to the Met and hold your head high. Not sure just how many buyers took them up on that idea, but it was a harbinger of pickup things to come, what with its deluxe interior (in your choice of five colors!), carpeting, color-keyed headliner, dual horns, extra insulation… even a cigar lighter and door-operated dome light switches! All very uptown for its time.
